Living the Dream

I just start reading Gesine Bullock-Prado’s memoir, Confections of a Closet Master Baker and have not been able to put it down. I wish I had the courage to leave it all behind and pursue my dream of opening a bakery, whether it be a brick-and-mortar establishment or one on wheels. I’m sure operating a bakery is no cake walk (no pun intended), but I’m sure you can’t put a value on the joy that the confections you’ve created bring to people, and more importantly, the satisfaction of doing what you love. Maybe one day. So until then I’ll be thankful for my day job and will find joy in sharing the creations out of my tiny kitchen with family and friends.
