‘Da (Baltimore) Bomb

25 Apr

Easter is one of my favorite holidays. Not only is it one of the most important seasons for those of the Christian faith, Easter for me is yet another reason to gather friends over a wonderful meal.

My friends and I are trying to eat a little more healthily and thoughtfully, but when someone suggested that dessert for yesterday’s brunch be the Baltimore Bomb from Dangerously Delicious we all held two hands up.

Imagine a flaky, tender crust filled with a sweet vanilla chess filling, then loaded with Berger Cookies. If you’ve never had one, a Berger Cookie alone is decadent: a cakey cookie which reminds me of a cross between a soft sugar cookie and shortbread (but not crisp) topped with a rich layer of fudge. Filling the pie with these cookies is simply over the top, yet oh so good.

We could each only handle a modest slice in one sitting. Which thankfully meant there were leftovers.

A slice of heaven
